Just some observations on the “expert” posts in here. For the brilliant one who spouts wealth resditribution has been proven to be very efficient in the past? Lets have an example where that has proven to do anything but bankrupt the economy that in creeps into please.You spout the great excesses you have while calling saome things “great excesses of modern society”? Do you actually here yourself there? And I noticed you are an “expert” at looking att hings from the “right wing view?” Care to elaborate on that liberal socio-statement there? Why nott ell the folks in here how many of you are typin on a PC with the internet paid for by Holders Democratic blogging machine and how you can’t make it in the real world?
As far as anyone thinking that Democrat doesnt = socialist agenda today ? hahaahahah Try again there.We see your agenda and nonsense from miles and lightyears ahead, too bad you don’t even have a clue what the hell you are spewing about here. That is obvious by the propaganda-laden liberal garbage some of you are trying to have people believe in here. Well, as much as I have problem with almost all of this, one particular line troubles me:

4. You think that we shouldn�t outsource labor and yet you complain about the rising cost of consumer goods.

Do not conservatives complain as much, if not more, about the outsourcing of labor? About American jobs leaving the country? And who doesn’t complain about the rising cost of goods? That doesn’t even make sense when you try to look at it from a right-wing point of view.

But item #2 is. . . well, its just plain stupid, and has nothing at all to do with socialism.

1. You advocate for equality for all and yet you want to raise taxes on certain social classes.
No, what most people who advocate a mixed socialist/market driven economy advocate is actually a stepped tax rate, on the basis that a flat tax is punitive towards the poor. A simple example: you set everyone at 10% tax rate – I earn 10,000 a year, you earn 1,000,000 a year. I pay my 10% and am left with 9,000 to live on. You are left with 900,000. Which is easier to make ends meet with? There is actually no point where you make less due to earning more (ok, so a couple of dollars if you manage to just squeak up a tax bracket).
2. You support the troops but do not support the war and you did not support the war in Iraq but now you support the war in Afghanistan. So� do you want war or not?
That assumes 2 things. 1: that both wars have identical level of factual justification (not true). 2: That I support the war in Afghanistan. I don’t. There are wars I could support, these are both not on that list.
3. You believe in bigger Government and yet you advocate for the government not to run your life.
Yes. Because, you see, the government controlling what I do in the privacy of my own home is not the equivalent of the government putting caps on carbon emissions or protecting watersheds from industrial waste.

Actually I have rarely complained about the rising cost of consumer goods. I have complained about the falling income of the domestic labour force. I have complained about the decrease in real buying power of salaries in the manufacturing sector.
5. You want the Government to take control and regulate all private businesses and yet you work for or own a privately owned business.
I want the government to regulate private business, not to take control. I do want them to run health care, utilities, a few other things that they have proven to be good at in the past. I also want them to fund the hell out of pure science.
6. You want to get paid the same as everybody else, but the average income in the US is probably less than what you are making.
No, I don’t want to get paid the same as everyone else. I just want some more fairness towards those whose skill set is less standard.
7. You think that the Government should spend more money to stimulate the economy when the Government has no money.
Nope. I want the government to spend money intelligently. I believe this falls under the heading of wealth redistribution, which has proven to be very effective in the past.
8. You think that the tax increase will not affect you.
It won’t. At least not directly.
9. You sit around and wait for the Government to �help� you.
No, I don’t.
10. You blame the economy for putting you in the situation that you are in even though you�ve been in the same situation for years.
What situation? Having a home, a car, Internet access, a computer? No, I don’t blame the economy for that. I do blame the free market for many of the worst excesses of modern society.

What a charming article. Though, if I may I would dearly like to address one or two items.

Yes? Why, thank you.

Well now, for a start Number 1, “You advocate for equality for all and yet you want to raise taxes on certain social classes”, neglects the notion that equality in principle is advocated entirely because of differences between different groups and therefore applies differently in order to, err, level the playing field… Equality, you say? Well!, those bloody disabled get their ramps, where is mine!

Number 2, “You support the troops but do not support the war and you did not support the war in Iraq but now you support the war in Afghanistan. So� do you want war or not?” Oh, yeah. It’s like… You know. People go nuts at young girls in basements, and yet those same people advocate keeping murderers behind bars. I mean. Hello! Do you want imprisonment or not? (Context and justification among other factors, if you’re having trouble following that one through)

Number 3, “You believe in bigger Government and yet you advocate for the government not to run your life”, works on its own assumption of what government is and creates the paradox from there. Nice inference!, though it is nothing but your own.

Number 4 is a straw man argument and not even worth quoting.

Number 5, “You want the Government to take control and regulate all private businesses and yet you work for or own a privately owned business.” Socialist criticism regards the structure of society as a whole, not necessarily how individuals within said society are living. But hey, it’s another straw man and therefore not worth any more time.

Number 6… “You want to get paid the same as everybody else, but the average income in the US is probably less than what you are making…” Straw. Man.

Number 7… Ahh. I see. Policy is really out the window now, critical debate disappears and we are reduced to creating an idea of a person who may support socialism in one form or another. Ad hominem much?

I fear I would be repeating myself if I addressed any of the remaining points.

Many of these don’t directly relate to the economic theory of socialism. Number 2 specifically has nothing to do with socialism. Socialism is an economic theory, not foreign policy. Something to the effect of “The top 10 Democrat Policy Inconsistences” would be a much more accurate title. Even that isnt completely accurate because some of these beliefs are shared by both sides of the aisle. I agree with the points being made but lets call it what it is. Democrat does not = socialist.

I agree; this is an excellent list, and well said…but I don’t know if they will see the facts & the truth if it hit them square between the eyes! Very scary, for the rest of us. The “Change” that was the buzzword of the election has begun, but did the blind followers know of what that “change” was?
